Head coach Myo Min Tun has terminated his duties serving for Yangon United FC according to mutual agreement from both sides on May 13.

Yangon United FC lost to Shan United FC with 1-2 in the first leg of MNL on May 12. The following day head coach Myo Min Tun demanded an immediate resignation from Yangon United FC. Members of the board of the Yangon United FC held an emergency meeting and complied with the demand of resignation for the sake of the desire of head coach Myo Min Tun.

The officials of the Yangon United FC agreed on the resignation of head coach Myo Min Tun.

The result of the first leg match against Shan United FC is nothing to do with my urgent resignation. I feel fatigued too much. My team stands at the third position, having one point difference from Shan United topping the table after the first leg and it is in a status capable of defending champions title. I want to take a rest for the time being, said head coach Myo Min Tun.

Myo Min Tun played for Yangon United as a player starting 2009 in Myanmar National League. He received retirement from Yangon United because of the injury sustained in 2013. Then, he served the duties for Yangon United as a coaching member. He took up responsibility for the head coach starting from the mid season of 2016.
