To avoid car accidents between Milepost 158 and 159, which is near Kungyankone road on New Asia Road, Myanmar-Thai border area, a four lane road will be built from the existing 2 lane road by removing the mountain.

The work has been started since last week of January and expected to completed in May, 2019 according to Tun Win Myint, officer of the Road Department of Myawaddy Township.

Near Kungyankone road, many road accidents occurred and causality rates has been rising.

"it is better for extended into four lane road. it is the place most accidents occur. Last year, 20 people died in a car accident. If it is a one-way road and extended, traffic accidents will decrease. Besides, drivers need to drive according to the set mile standard," said Ko Myo, a driver from Myawaddy-Mawlamyine.

It will use Ks 412 million.
