Five workers returning to Myanmar were sent to the wrong airport by their Malaysian employer, according to the Malaysia-based Great Heart Charity Association.

Their contracts are expired and their boss bought airline tickets for them to return to Myanmar. The flight to Myanmar docked at KLIA (1) and the airport where the workers arrived was KLIA (2). The five workers included a worker who had lived in Malaysia for seven years.

"To return to the motherland, their boss in Malaysia's Sabah state bought them airline tickets to return to Myanmar from the KL airport. They have been sent to the wrong airport. Their boss didn't say about it, and some of them have been in Malaysia for up to seven years, and the fact that the factory is located in Sabah, which is still a two-hour flight away from Kuala Lumpur, and the factory has nearly a thousand Myanmar nationals. It is not easy to ask for help because they have to travel by plane from the factory. They cannot eat lunch. They stayed all day long at the airport and the person from the Myanmar side gave them the phone number of our organization in the evening. They contacted us to ask for help. Our team immediately went to the airport to meet and encourage them and arrange a flight for the next day. But the flight was full so we took them to our office. They also had to eat when they arrived at the office. They booked the MAI flight on Friday, September 30," the Great Heart Charity Association announced.

The five Myanmar workers will be escorted by the Great Heart Charity Association to some places to visit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"It's been years since someone came to Malaysia, but they are in a state in Malaysia, so it's not easy to come to Kuala Lumpur, so they don’t know about KLCC. It's unfortunate that they missed the flight. Now, our group will help and send them to KLCC and some other places, so they are lucky again," the association wrote.

For those living in Malaysia, if they want to return to Myanmar, they need to leave about 4 hours earlier than the flight departure time. The association warned that there are people who are lying and asking for passports and tickets at airports.
