Eleven Media Group (EMG) held the ceremony to present Best Footballer of the Year Award for 2018 at its head office in Thaketa Township on March 27.

Kyaw Zin Htet, goalkeeper of Yangon United and Myanmar National Team, won Best Footballer of the Year Award for 2018. Dr Thein Myint, Managing Director of the EMG and editorial members, General Secretary Ko Ko Thein of Myanmar Football Federation (MFF), Chief Executive Officer Soe Moe Kyaw of Myanmar National League Committee, Patron Bunny Tin Aung of technical committee of the MFF, officials from Yangon United and Yadanabon teams, winners and authors from sports field attended the ceremony. Chief Editor Myat Htut Win of Eleven Sports explained about the selection process of the award and Dr Thein Myint delivered the opening speech. Bunny Tin Aung directed a speech in related with Myanmar football.

Dr Thein Myint awarded Ks1.5 million to Kyaw Zin Htet and Bunny Tin Aung rewarded Ks1 million to Maung Maung Lwin. Zin Min Maung from the EMG presented Ks0.5 million to Secretary Aung Hein Khaing of Yadanapon FC, who accepted the award on behalf of Aung Thu. Aung Thu left for Thailand in the morning. Kyaw Zin Htet, Maung Maung Lwin and Yangon United Head Coach Myo Min Tun gave thank you speeches.

The First Eleven Sports Journal awarded best world footballer of the year and best Myanmar footballer of the year annually since 2000. It had been chosen by the view of the editorial team of the First Eleven Sports Journal from 2000 to 2004. The award was reviewed and chosen from the votes of readers and other authors from sports field from 2005.

Goalkeeper Kyaw Zin Htet had been chosen Best Footballer of the Year Award as he won Myanmar National League title and General Aung San Shield last year in addition to his outstanding skills in AFC and Suzuki Cup.

He won the award in 2007. He won it after over a decade.
