Firefighters rescued six workers and a child who were trapped in a tent on the middle of the water when the water rushed into the creek during the construction of a dam (earth retaining wall) on the bank of a creek.
It is reported that six workers and a child were trapped in a tent on the beach in Mulashidi creek in Putao Township, Kachin State due to the rainwater from the mountain at around 3:00 am on February 23.
A resident reported to the Myanmar Fire Services Department that people were trapped in a shelter on the beach, and the firefighters from Putao District/Township fire station conducted a search and rescue operation.
Firefighters rescued those trapped in the incident and there were no injuries.
