Explosion occurs on a passenger bus on Mandalay-Shwebo highway in Wetlet, injuring two

Two female passengers were injured when PDF plotted a homemade landmine attack on a passenger bus on the Mandalay-Shwebo highway in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region on the morning of May 21, according to the information team of the State Administration Council (SAC).

The bus from “High Class” highway bus line driven by U Nay Zaw Latt along the Shwebo-Mandalay highway from Mandalay to Kalemyo carrying 23 passengers and three hand grenades exploded on the right side of the road on the Shwebo-Mandalay Highway at the entrance of Hla Taw Village. The explosion shattered front, left and right sides of windshield and caused damages the body of the vehicle.

Security forces rushed the injured people to Mandalay People's Hospital for medical treatment and are working to identify and arrest the perpetrators of the attack.
