Donation ceremony held in Nay Pyi Taw for earthquake victims; donors contribute 116.84 billion kyats

A donation ceremony for those affected by the earthquake was held on April 1 in Nay Pyi Taw. 

During the event, donors contributed a total of 116.84 billion kyats, including 104.44 billion kyats in cash and 12.4 billion kyats worth of relief supplies. 

The ceremony was attended by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Vice-Chairman of the SAC and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, other SAC members, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and donors and business entrepreneurs. 

During the ceremony, a moment of silence was observed to honor the lives lost and express deep sorrow for the destruction caused by the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck on March 28.
