District and Township Immigration office in Kawkareik set on fire

District and Township Immigration office in Kawkareik was burnt down on September 27 according to locals.

The District and Township Immigration office in Bawdi Street, ward-7 was torched by three armed men in plain clothes at 11:00 pm on September 27.

“When we heard about fire engine, we investigated and found out that it was from District and Township Immigration office,” said a local who didn’t want to be identified.

Fire destroyed one storey building, it is reported. Security forces, fire services members and locals cooperated in extinguishing the fire.

Depending on the situation, the office is temporarily moved to Dawna hall but documents weren’t destroyed said a source close to security forces.
