The National League for Democracy (NLD) chair Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said that attempts are being made to incite the people into angry retaliation regarding the election and for the people to not fall for the traps.

She posted regarding this on the Chair NLD Facebook Page on November 3.

In that post, she stated that the people know how important the election is for the nation and that it is very near. As it draws closer, the key goal is for the election to finish peacefully and for the people's wishes to come true.

"The people know that since that is not wanted, there are many attempts to harm the election from completion. There are many situations where anger could be justified but they are baiting the public into retaliating in defiance. Do not enter that trap. I recalled a phrase that most of us know since when we were little. "ဘာရမလဲ သာဝရာ၊ မင်းလောက်တော့ ငါ ပါးပါသေးတယ်ကွာ" (You cannot hope to trick me with something like this, Tharwa). We do not know who Tharwa is but even children understand the meaning. We are the same now. We have to be smarter than 'Tharwa' and control ourselves. The people are better than 'Tharwa'," wrote Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.

She says that it is not difficult for us to attain victory, encouraged holding tightly onto one's beliefs, concentrating on wellwishes, the people are sending each other, get up (on November 8), head down to the polling station and vote.

"We will be wearing masks so we cannot show each other our smiles but we can communicate through our eyes. Show them with our looks how united we are because of how important this is. If people notice anything that will bring harm to the voting, please inform this to the polling authorities in a calm and clear manner. There will also be both local and international organizations that will be observing the election. Show them all how the people are masters of our own destiny and that we are political veterans. Show them that we follow health and safety regulations," said the NLD chair.

She also expressed envy to those that can go down to the polling station to vote as she had to cast advance votes as she was over 60 years old. But on November 8, she promised that she will be there in spirit with all the voters across the nation, encouraging people to vote for NLD to keep a stable strength and success going.
