COVID-19 renovation works at Jivitadana Sangha Hospital almost complete

90% of renovation work completed at the Kaba Aye Jivitadana Sangha Hospital to treat monks who have been infected with the coronavirus. 

Daw Moe Moe Su Kyi, minister for Immigration and human resources said that preparations are also underway to erect a new wing at the North Okkalapa hospital 

The minister said that renovations at the Jivitadana Sangha Hospital to give treatment to monks has been 90% completed. More than 170 monks can be treated here.There is even an ICU. The previous Sangha hospital was renovated during Covid-19 period with the idea of giving treatment to monks who are Positive. The previous place is the five-storey edifice at Baba Aye. It was on 14 Oct.that the prime minister discussed setting up a new wing at the North Okkalapa hospital to treat COVID-19 patients.     

The minister further said that the site previously chosen for a COVID-19 treatment hospital in Thakayta was found to have been a cemetery and rubbish dump, and after testing the soil, professionals found that the place was unfit, and another place is being sought.     

According to the announcement made by the Ministry of Health and Sports at 8pm on 14 Oct. there have been 732 Covid-related deaths, and 31325 confirmed patients.    

From 8pm of 13 Oct. to 8pm of 14 Oct. 9653 lab tests had been conducted, and of these 888 new confirmed  patients have been found.    

Of these confirmed patients, 2097 have been discharged from hospital, the total number of patients discharged is 13866.   

Of the 39 deaths along with the addition of new confirmed patients, 28 were found to have had previous illnesses. Till date the total number of deaths is 732.

According to an announcement made by the ministry, in the entire country 451582 lab tests had been conducted till now, and 31325 COVID-19 confirmed patients were found. 13866 patients have been discharged and the number of deaths is 732.   

In hospitals in Yangon Region, tests are being conducted using the Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test Kits and among those tested those with inability to get any smell are also included.
