The cooking oil tanker MT TIRTASARI arrived at Yangon’s KIP Port on the night of March 21, according to reports.

The vessel was brought in to ensure sufficient domestic supply of cooking oil and to enable the timely distribution of essential raw materials needed for industrial production.

To guarantee the accuracy of both quality and weight of the imported oil, inspections were carried out under the supervision of the Edible Oil Import, Storage, and Distribution Supervisory Committee. Participating in the inspection were members from the Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers and Manufacturers Association, the Department of Consumer Affairs, the tank inspection team, and the MITS team.

The unloading process of the MT TIRTASARI was completed at around 10:54 p.m. on March 22. Authorities stated that with such systematic inspection and import procedures, high-quality cooking oil can be continuously supplied to the public.
