The YESC is providing electricity from 5 pm to 8 am in some townships in Yangon Region as a trail test and the current partial power supply schedule will continue, said an official from the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation (YESC).

"We will supply electricity from 5 pm and we will give as much as we can but the plan is not decided yet,” said an official from the YESC.

The previous four-hour power supply schedule will remain the same and has not changed.

"Every four-hour power supply schedule is still existed. No change is made yet,” said a YESC official.

According to a statement from the YESC, it is providing electricity every four hours in the region by dividing two groups.

There are four districts in Yangon Region, divided into Group A and Group B, with power outages every four hours, according to the statement.

If the Group A has been provided electricity, power outage will be occurred in Group B, it said.

According to a statement from the YESC, the industrial zones will receive electricity only from 9 am to 5 pm, with power outages for the rest of the day.

Normally, the maximum power generation capacity is around 4,200 MW, and the partial power supply schedule continues due to the shutdown of LNG power generation capacity, which has about 750 MW, due to rising gas prices and the damages caused by sabotage on 230 KV Biluchaung (2) - Shwe Myo Power Line, 230 KV Biluchaung (2) - Taungoo Power Line and 132 KV Biluchaung (2) - Tigyit Power Line, which are transmitting electricity from Biluchaung Hydropower Plant, announced the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.
