Myanmar detained another 1,038 Chinese citizens illegally staying in Namhsan, southern Shan State on January 23 and the necessary inspections are being conducted, according to the statement issued by the State Administration Council (SAC).
In its commitment to ensuring peace, stability, and the rule of law, particularly in border areas, the government has been taking actions against illegal residency of foreigners who entered the country through unauthorized means.
The security forces, acting on a tip-off about the illegal residing of Chinese people in Namhsan area of southern Shan State, and a total of 1,038 illegal Chinese people ( 1,002 males and 36 females) have been arrested from three different places in the nearby area of Namhsan. Investigations have been made in accordance with the law, SAC said.
The government has already issued a statement that they will continue scrutinizing process for crackdown of illegal residency, online frauds and other illegal activities across the country while actively cooperation with the neighbouring countries.
