An explosion occurred at Daw Phwar May Moh Hinghar shop (Myanmar traditional fish soup noddle shop) at the corner of Thumana road and Yanpyay road near Thaketa Township no-2 market around 2:00 pm on June 6.

It may be a homemade sonic bomb and no one was hurt according to locals.

“We heard a very loud explosion but no one was injured. The shop was chaotic after the explosion and the owner was busy cleaning the chairs,” said locals from Thaketa Township. The shop experienced a similar explosion and it was the second time. Explosions frequently happened in Thaketa Township and a ward administrator in Bamar Aye was killed by gunshot on June 3 evening.

Securities have been tightened in Thaketa Township general administrative office, No-1 and No-2 police stations. On June 3 at 6:50 pm, an explosion occurred near Montaung ward, Kyuntaw road in San Chaung Township but no one was hurt according to locals in Sangyoung Township.

On June 2 morning, an explosion occurred near Thabyay Kone ward administrator office in 125 street, Mingalar Taungnyunt Township. On June 1 at 7:00 pm, three explosions occurred near Shilar store in Myanmar Gonyay road in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township according to people living in the township.

On June 1st, around 10 pm, an explosion occurred near Yuzana Plaza.Series of explosions occurred in Yangon Region since the end of April and on May 15, an explosion occurred at Denko petrol shop in Khaymarthi road in North Okkalapa township in which a man came to fill the petrol was killed.

On May 27 morning, a ward administrator from Myanpyay 20th street in Thaketa Township was shot and killed. At least five explosions occurred in Thaketa Township on that day. On June 1 evening and early hours of June 2, five explosions occurred in Mingalar Taungnyunt Township.
