The Arakan, the Ta,ang National Liberation Army and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army  (MNDAA) are giving trouble to local people and transport in  northern Shan State, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tatmadaw True News Information Team.

"These insurgent groups destroyed roads and bridges in northern Shan State. We are reconstructing the damaged facilities. They are destroying them once again, especially the roads and bridges local people are using. They are attacking civilian targets. Now the military and the civilian targets are under attack. They are giving trouble to local people in the transport sector," said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

The three allied armed group fired heavy weapons to a local battalion in Nantpaung, Lashio in northern Shan State on August 28. The Tatmadaw military column returned fires to the insurgents of AA, TNLA and MNDAA. The fires brought no causalities. The clashes are still taking place while attempting to control the northern Shan State, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

"The insurgents of the AA, TNLA and MNDA fired heavy weapons at about 3 pm and we are also returning fires. There are no causalities and the clashes are still going on. Three bridges on Theinni-Kunlon-Chinshwehaw road were blasted on August 16 and 17. On August 25, they were reopened. But the middle bridge also known as the 31st mile bridge was destroyed again," said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

We are planning to substitute the damaged bridge with bailey reinforced concrete bridge. We are trying to build a detour road on August 28 before the substitution. Once the diversion road appears, transport will back into service, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
