AA fires 40-mm launcher at police and Tatmadaw on Saitinchaung bridge on Buthidaung-Yathetaung motor road

The Arakan Army (AA) fired a 40-mm bomb launcher at the police and Tatmadaw military column who were taking security measures on Saitinchaung bridge on Buthidaung-Yathetaung motor road in Rakhine State at about 3 am on October 5, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tatmadaw True News Information Team.

Under cover of Bengali and Rakhine villages in eastern Saitinchaung bridge, the AA  launched the launcher attack, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

'We have a security camp where the police and Tatmadaw military column are taking security measures on Saitinchaung bridge on Buthidaung-Yathetaung motor road. At about 3 am, the AA fired 40-mm launcher at the police and Tatmadaw military column from the distance of 500 meter from the east. No casualties were reported," said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

The AA and the hard cores of the AA are disrupting secure and smooth transport of Buthidaung-Yathetaung motor road, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

"The AA launched bomb and mine attacks on Buthidaung-Yathetaung motor road for five times. The cars were destroyed by fire for three times. We seized three deaths of the AA members and their supporters," said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

At present, the clashes between Tatmadaw and the AA are taking place in the eastern MraukU and Kyauktaw in Rakhine State, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
