A man from Thiri Marlar ward in Yay was seriously injured when he was shot at around afternoon on October 11 according to local sources.

“U Aung Thu aka U Sithu was shot by two unidentified gunmen while riding a motorcycle and returning from his garden in Phalan village to Yay, according to a local. He got four gunshot wounds. Three at his back and one at his left cheek,” said a local.

He was in serious condition and sent to Mawlamyaing hospital, added the local.

Similarly, Aung Mitta ward administrator U Aye Lwin aka Ko Latt was injured in a gunshot incident on October 10.
