A man was struck by lightning and died in Thaton on the afternoon of April 27, according to the social welfare association.

The person who died after being struck by lightning was a 37-year-old man from Sinphyu Kyun Village, Thaton, said Ko Oakka Tun from the White Heart social welfare association.

"There was rain and lightning at around 2 pm in Thaton today. The man who was struck by lightning was in a field west of Thaton Station when it was raining," he said.

Ko Oakka Tun said that the person who was struck by lightning died of congestion of the heart.

The body was sent to the mortuary in Thaton District Public Hospital.
