On February 15, a significant operation unfolded at the Mayangyaung Permanent Checkpoint in Kyaikhto Township, Mon State.

A joint team of security forces and anti-narcotics police intercepted a Hyundai mini bus en route from DaikU town to Kyaikhto town. The vehicle was driven by Khaing Zaw Tun, with Naing Zaw and Nanda Tun on board.

During their inspection, the team discovered a staggering 1.5 million psychotropic pills, valued at 3 billion kyats, hidden within the mini bus. The pills were promptly confiscated.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Zaw Myo Naing (also known as Danyin), a resident of DaikU Township. He was apprehended at his home at 4 am on February 16. Authorities believe he was the designated carrier of the illicit drugs.

The seized psychotropic pills had been transported from Shan State to DaikU Township in the Bago Region. Zaw Myo Naing was caught while attempting to continue their journey to Kayin State.

Legal proceedings are underway, with those involved facing charges under the narcotics and psychotropic drugs law. The investigation aims to uncover the entire network of offenders involved in this illicit trade.
