During an official visit to Moscow, Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, declaring that diplomatic ties have reached their closest and highest level in their 78-year history. Addressing the media, he formally invited Russian entrepreneurs to invest in Myanmar, highlighting the country's strategic geography, rich natural resources, vast agricultural land, and over 1,300 miles of coastline.

The leaders signed 12 bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding, with additional pacts currently in progress. Talks covered broad cooperation across defense, security, agriculture, science, space technology, healthcare, and tourism. They also highlighted the mutual visa-exemption agreement enacted in January as a key driver for tourism and people-to-people exchanges, while agreeing to expand parliamentary relations and maintain strong mutual support on the international stage.
