Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing will make an official visit to Thailand in the coming days at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, according to a statement issued by Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the visit, President U Min Aung Hlaing is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Anutin and meet the Acting President of Thailand’s National Assembly. He is also expected to receive representatives from the business community and attend an economic forum.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the discussions will focus on strengthening the longstanding friendly relations between Myanmar and Thailand, as well as expanding cooperation in economic, cultural and other sectors for the benefit of both governments and their peoples.

The President will be accompanied by Union ministers and other senior officials during the official visit, the ministry added.
