Four fuel tankers arrived at Thilawa Port on July 26, according to the Ministry of Electric Power and Energy.

The ministry stated that inspections confirmed the imported fuel met the required quality standards. As a result, unloading operations are currently underway so that the fuel can be stored in storage tanks at the respective terminals.

According to the ministry, it is continuing to implement measures to ensure the uninterrupted arrival of imported fuel and to prevent shortages at fuel stations across the country. These measures include overseeing the entire fuel supply chain to ensure that distributed fuel reaches consumers, monitoring fuel allocations, and verifying that fuel purchase approvals for retail stations are based on actual demand and genuine purchase orders (POs).

The ministry also said that it reviews QR code and barcode-based sales records through technological systems to ensure that fuel purchase permits are granted in accordance with actual sales volumes. In addition, authorities are monitoring and inspecting the transportation of fuel from terminals in Thilawa to designated fuel stations and businesses by tracking GPS systems installed on fuel transport vehicles and taking action when necessary.

The ministry said these supervisory and enforcement measures are being carried out to ensure an efficient and transparent fuel distribution process.
