KBZ Bank has announced that there have been no breaches or unauthorized intrusions into its security systems.
The announcement came after a cyber hacking group calling itself The Crew claimed in a post on the social media platform X on August 24 that it had obtained data from several organizations, including KBZ Bank and AYA Bank.
KBZ Bank said it continuously conducts cybersecurity assessments and that its latest security checks found no security breaches or unauthorized access whatsoever to the bank’s systems.
In its statement, The Crew claimed to have obtained internal information from KBZ Bank and posted sample data on X, including information allegedly related to around 10 bank user accounts, several iBanking accounts, email addresses, usernames and password codes.
Cybersecurity monitoring groups have described The Crew’s claims regarding the alleged cyberattack as an unverified claim, as the assertions have not yet been independently confirmed.
The Crew is reportedly a cyber hacking group that operates with the aim of extorting money from companies and organizations whose data has allegedly been compromised, as well as selling the stolen information.
