Talks focus on expanding bilateral cooperation, regional collaboration, trade, investment, and tourism.
Nay PyTaw - Vietnam's newly appointed Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Ngu Anh Duc, formally presented his credentials to President U Min Aung Hlaing during a ceremony held at the Presidential Residence in Nay Pyi Taw on July 22 morning.
The ambassador was welcomed with full diplomatic honors, paying tribute to the national flags of Myanmar and Vietnam before receiving a ceremonial guard of honour. The national anthems of both countries were performed during the official ceremony.
Following the presentation of credentials, President U Min Aung Hlaing and Ambassador Ngu Anh Duc held discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
According to official information, the talks focused on enhancing diplomatic relations, friendship, and cooperation between Myanmar and Vietnam, while exploring opportunities to deepen collaboration in trade, investment, and economic development.
The two sides also discussed expanding regional cooperation and promoting closer ties between the two countries. They reviewed preparations for the upcoming Cambodia–Laos–Myanmar–Vietnam (CLMV) Summit and the Ayeyawady–Chao Phraya–Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit, both of which are scheduled to be hosted by Vietnam, with Myanmar expected to participate.
Discussions also covered strengthening people-to-people exchanges, promoting tourism through closer public engagement, increasing reciprocal visits by national leaders and senior officials, enhancing parliamentary cooperation, and further expanding collaboration across a broad range of sectors.
The credential presentation ceremony was attended by Union Minister for the President's Office U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe, Director-General of the Protocol Department U Thet Tun, Ambassador Ngu Anh Duc and his spouse, together with other officials. Following the ceremony, Ambassador Ngu Anh Duc signed the guest book at the Presidential Residence.
