Heatwave Expected in Bago Region from April 1 to 6; Residents Urged to Take Precautions

The Bago Region Government has issued a directive urging residents to take precautions against high temperatures, as a heatwave is expected to pass through the region from April 1 to April 6.

According to a special warning released by the Bago Region Government, several areas are already experiencing extreme heat, with daytime temperatures exceeding 40°C. These include Taungoo, Zaungtu Village in Bago Township, Bago, and Phyu, where temperatures have been steadily rising, as reported on the region’s official social media page.

Due to these conditions, authorities have advised residents across Bago Region to remain particularly cautious. If it is necessary to go outdoors, people are encouraged to use protective measures such as carrying umbrellas, wearing hats, and dressing in long-sleeved clothing.

In addition, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology’s 10-day weather forecast issued on April 1 indicates that daytime temperatures in Tanintharyi Region may exceed the April average by more than 1.5°C. Meanwhile, regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, as well as Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan States are to experience temperatures around their typical April averages.
