A fire has broken out at a lens factory inside the Mingaladon Industrial Zone, with emergency crews currently battling the blaze under a Level 2 response, according to firefighters at the scene.

The incident was reported shortly after midnight on March 25 at a factory located on No. 3 Main Road in Mingaladon Township. Upon receiving the alert, teams from the Fire Services Department, the Red Cross, and various volunteer organizations rushed to the site to assist in firefighting and rescue operations.

Authorities confirmed that the fire is occurring at an optic lens factory. As of now, the Myanmar Fire Services Department is continuing efforts to the flames under a Level 2 emergency classification.

“A fire at a factory was initially reported. Firefighting operations are still ongoing at this time,” a firefighter at the scene said.

According to volunteer groups present, firefighting efforts were still in progress as of around 1:30 am.
