Fuel Shortage Forces Temporary Suspension of Rice Home Delivery in Myanmar

The Myanmar Rice Federation has announced a temporary suspension of its home delivery rice sales due to fuel supply difficulties.

The suspension takes effect starting March 17, halting rice distribution through the home delivery system.

According to the federation, ongoing global fuel supply challenges have made it difficult to ensure timely deliveries. As a result, rice distribution will continue only for customers who have already made payments or placed orders. The federation also stated that further updates regarding the resumption of the service will be announced later.

The Myanmar Rice Federation, in cooperation with the Myanmar Rice Traders Association, had been selling rice through a home delivery system to help stabilize rice prices for consumers. As of March 16, a total of 1,161 bags of rice had already been delivered to customers.
