Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe met with Mr. Deng Hijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on March 13.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the longstanding friendly relations between Myanmar and China and ways to further promote mutually beneficial cooperation, including efforts to maintain peace and stability along the border areas of the two countries.

They also exchanged views on developments related to Myanmar’s internal peace process, China’s continued support for Myanmar’s peace and socio-economic development efforts, and joint cooperation to combat online gambling and other illegal activities in border regions, mutual support on regional and international platforms and other matters of shared interest.
