Ninety Myanmar nationals who had been involved for various reasons in online scam and gambling operations in Cambodia were brought back to Myanmar as the fifth batch, according to reports.
These individuals included those who voluntarily reported to the Myanmar Embassy in Cambodia as well as those transferred by Cambodian police and relevant authorities. Arrangements are being made to repatriate such Myanmar citizens back to the country.
On February 7, Myanmar nationals who had arrived at the Myanmar Embassy in Cambodia were brought back as the fifth batch. In the afternoon, 90 Myanmar citizens arrived in Yangon aboard a Tatmadaw aircraft.
The Myanmar government has been repatriating its citizens from the Myanmar Embassy in Cambodia using Myanmar Airways International (MAI) and military aircraft. To date, a total of 1,086 Myanmar nationals have been brought back.
Upon arrival in Yangon on February 7, the returnees were received by district and township officials from Mingaladon and departmental officials. They were provided with food and transported by vehicles arranged by the Yangon Region Government to a designated gathering point in the city.
Relevant authorities will collect necessary personal information and records from the returnees, conduct required checks, and continue with further procedures in accordance with regulations.
