Advance voting is being carried out in Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region and Mongnai Township of Shan State, which are included in Phase (3) of the election, according to the Ministry of Information.
In Myingyan Town, Mandalay Region, teachers, departmental staff, and security personnel who will be serving in Phase (3) of the multi-party democratic general election began casting advance ballots at designated advance polling stations starting at 8:00 a.m. on January 15.
Phase (3) of the multi-party democratic general election in Myingyan Township is scheduled to be held on January 25, with 67 polling stations set up across 28 wards and village tracts, and a total of 10,336 eligible voters.
Similarly, in Mongnai Township, Namhsan District, southern Shan State, Phase (3) of the 2025 multi-party democratic general election is scheduled to be held on January 25, 2026. Advance voting has been underway since January 15 at the relevant township sub-commission offices.
Advance voting is open to education staff, security personnel, and departmental staff who will be on polling duty on election day, as well as voters who need to travel outside their constituencies for health reasons, in accordance with directives from the Union Election Commission. Voters who fall under Section 45(b) of the relevant parliamentary election laws will be able to cast advance ballots from January 21 to 24, the Ministry of Information said.
