The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) has announced that it will sell 10 million Chinese yuan in the foreign exchange market to support importers.
In addition, the CBM said on December 31 that it would sell a further US$23 million in the foreign exchange market for fuel importers. A similar announcement was made on December 24, when the central bank also offered US$23 million for fuel importers.
Earlier, on December 17, the CBM announced the sale of US$32 million in the foreign exchange market for fuel importers, followed by another sale of US$28 million announced on December 12.
