A candidate–voter introduction event for the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) candidates contesting in Mawlamyine Township, Mon State, was held on December 9 at the SunShine Villa Hotel in Mawlamyine.

USDP Central Executive member and Mon State Chairman U Aung Kyi Thein, along with central-level party officials, contesting candidates, party members, and local residents attended the ceremony.

At the event, Mon State USDP Chairman U Aung Kyi Thein said that during the past five-year term, many laws that needed amendments were left unchanged, causing losses for the country and its people. He stated that if the candidates are elected to parliament, they will ensure the necessary laws are amended. He reiterated that voters should support USDP candidates in the upcoming election so they can enter parliament and push for the required legal reforms.

U Aung Kyi Thein, who is also the current Chief Minister of Mon State, will contest in the upcoming election as a Mon State Hluttaw candidate for Chaungzon Township under the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) system.
