National Unity Party to contest upcoming election with 703 candidates

It has been announced at the party's 37th anniversary ceremony that the National Unity Party will compete in the upcoming election with 703 candidates.

The National Unity Party's 37th anniversary ceremony was held within the Mandalay Region office compound in Chanayetharzan Township, and it was attended by presidium members, party members, and candidate representatives.

Regarding the party's plans to compete in the upcoming election, Daw Thaung Thaung Nu, the Chairperson of the National Unity Party's Mandalay Region Committee and a member of the party's central executive committee, stated:

"The National Unity Party reached its 37-year mark on September 24. However, because the headquarters was scheduled to come and present awards, we are holding the ceremony today. For the entire nation, we have planned for 703 candidates. Planning these candidates was also a process laid out and implemented since the party's last anniversary. For Mandalay Region specifically, there are 90 candidates. We have 12 for the Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House), we are fully contesting all 25 townships for the Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House), and we will also fully contest for the Region Hluttaw. Therefore, 90 candidates have been planned and submitted for Mandalay Region."

During the ceremony, the message from the party chairman, U Han Shwe, was read aloud by the Mandalay Region Committee Chairperson. It was also revealed that the party has over ten thousand members and has opened more than three hundred township offices.
