The Myanmar Labour Attache Office has announced that the owner of Cal-Comp Electronics factory has been reached agreement with 1,450 Myanmar migrant workers to pay 10,000 baht indemnity for each worker in addition to severance pay.

The Labour Attache Office has learned that the 1,450 Myanmar workers were laid off due to a drop in orders at the Cal-Comp Electronics factory in Thailand.

The Township Administrator, Police Chief, Employment Department Office, Labour Protection Office, and factory executives and managers met to discuss the workers’ demands regarding the layoffs. The employer and employees agreed to terminate the employment in accordance with the law, to pay the severance pay and a 10,000 baht indemnity to their bank accounts or in cash starting October 1, and to obtain a transfer letter that allows them to work with their new employer from the departmental cooperation center.
