Construction of the Naypyitaw Gate is underway in the Union Territory of Nay Pyi Taw, according to official sources.

On the morning of June 25, President U Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Vice Presidents U Nyo Saw and Daw Nan Ni Ni Aye, along with senior officials, inspected the construction site of the Naypyitaw Gate.

During a briefing at the project site, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant updated the President and the delegation on the progress of the construction work. After the briefing, the President instructed officials to systematically build bypass roads to minimize traffic disruptions during construction. He also stressed that the gateway should be constructed on a grand scale, incorporating Myanmar's traditional craftsmanship while ensuring structural strength, aesthetic appeal, and earthquake resistance. The President further directed that approach roads be designed with gentle gradients, and that public recreational areas, parking facilities, and pedestrian underpasses, where necessary, be included in the overall project. He also issued additional instructions on other aspects of the construction.

Following the briefing, the President inspected the ongoing construction work and provided further guidance based on reports from project officials.

The Union Territory of Nay Pyi Taw is being developed as a green, clean, and smart city under the country's urban development plan. The Naypyitaw Gate is intended to serve as a landmark entrance to the capital, welcoming visitors while enhancing the city's image and reflecting Myanmar's cultural heritage and historical identity.
