35 People still missing months after deadly Mandalay earthquake

As of August 13, the death toll from the devastating March 28 earthquake in Myanmar has reached 3,773, with 5,104 injured and 35 people still missing across six severely affected regions and states.

The Myanmar Fire Service Department continues search, clean-up, and rehabilitation efforts, rescuing 653 people alive and recovering 851 bodies so far. On August 13, the body of a man was discovered in the ruins of the Sky Villa condominium, where more than 150 bodies have been found and only 52 survivors rescued since the building collapsed.

The powerful quake, which struck Mandalay on March 28, destroyed  hotels, residential buildings, and the Sky Villa condo, leaving widespread destruction and loss of life.
