The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced that during the middle of the rainy season, low pressure may occur three times in the Bay of Bengal, and on two occasions it will become stronger and may intensify into a depression.

According to the announcement, the mid-rain season weather forecast is from July 1, 2025 to the end of August. During the mid-monsoon period, low pressure may occur three times in the Bay of Bengal, and two times it will become stronger and may become a depression.

During this period, the southwest monsoon will be moderate to strong. Due to the rainfall situation, rain or thundershowers will be below normal in Magway and Sagaing regions, and will be about normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyawady, Tanintharyi regions, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine and Shan states.

Similarly, the monsoon period is started from the time when the southwest monsoon wind enters Myanmar to the end of June. It is reported that during the rainy season, low pressure will occur in the Bay of Bengal for three times, and one time it will become stronger and may reach a depression.

During this period, the southwest monsoon wind will be moderate to strong. Rain or thundershowers will be above normal in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyawady regions, Mon and Rakhine states and will be about normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Tanintharyi regions, Kachin, Chin and Shan states.

As for the weather forecast for the first ten-day of May, a low-pressure area may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few clouds elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Rain or thundershowers will be above normal in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi regions and Kayin, Mon, Shan states, below normal in Chin, Rakhine states and about normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Sagaing regions and Kachin, Kayah states.

Rainy days are expected about 6 to 8 days in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Shan states and about 3 to 5 days in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing regions and Chin, Rakhine states.

Day temperature will be 1.5°C above normal of May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, lower Sagaing regions and about normal of May average temperatures in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Bago, upper Sagaing, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan states.
