Chauk among world’s three hottest cities for four consecutive days

Chauk in Myanmar’s Magway Region has ranked among the world’s three hottest cities for four consecutive days, according to global weather forecaster Eldoradoweather. 

On March 20, Chauk placed third with a temperature of 43.4°C, while Minbu, also in Magway Region, ranked ninth at 42.7°C.

Chauk had previously held the second spot since March 17 before dropping to third on March 20. The hottest city in the world that day was Mara, Mali, recording 44.1°C, followed by Tillaberi, Niger, at 44°C. The world’s ten hottest cities included two in Mali, two in Myanmar, one in Thailand, four in Niger, and one in Senegal.

Meanwhile, meteorologist U Win Naing reported that some areas of Myanmar will see light rain starting March 20, leading to a slight drop in temperatures. From March 21 to 24, Shan State, Kachin State, and the upper Sagaing Region are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, while other regions will have partly cloudy skies with a minor decrease in daytime temperatures.
