Passenger bus catches fire on Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila highway; no injuries reported

A passenger bus caught fire on the Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila highway, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department.

The incident occurred on January 28 at around 9:10 AM at milepost (41/0) on the Kyaukpadaung-Meiktila highway in Mandalay Region, where a HYUNDAI CITY BUS passenger vehicle caught fire.

Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the fire. Firefighters from the Kyaukpadaung Township Fire Station responded to the scene with one fire truck and one water tanker, while an additional water tanker was dispatched from the Letpanpyar fire station. The fire was successfully extinguished at 9:44 AM.

The bus was operating on a route between Naypyitaw and Chauk, carrying approximately 30 passengers at the time of the incident.
