The Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo announced on November 15 that 224 Japanese companies would be employing over 780 more Myanmar workers.

According to the announcement, the embassy is scrutinizing demand letters from Myanmar’s Labour Ministry sent via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a timely basis.

The scrutiny process includes checking whether the companies and factories offering to employ Myanmar citizens are legitimately established in Japan and whether documents are complete and correct. Then, findings after scrutiny and remarks have to be sent back to the Labour Ministry via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Now, facts and data about 224 demand letters have been sent after scrutiny by the embassy in Tokyo from November 1 to 15 this year, the announcement said.

It added that 224 Japanese firms were planning to employ an additional 781 Myanmar workers.

The Myanmar Embassy already announced in September that 658 male and female workers of Myanmar would be offered jobs in 227 demand letters after scrutiny from September 1 to 15.
