State Administration Council (SAC ) issued a statement on April 1 on termination of citizenship to 17 people including singer Han Htoo Lwin and Actor “Daung”.
Those include in the termination of citizenship list are U Maung Maung Latt, U Kyaw Moe Tun, U Kyaw Naing, Daw Mya Mya Kyi, U Kyaw Swa Min, Daw Thet Htar Mya Ye San, Daw Su Su Aung, U Kyaw Swa Tun, U Kyu Kyu Myint, Daw Myat Thwe Aung, Daw Yamin Yu, U Ye Khaung, singer Han Htoo Lwin aka Kyar Pauk, Hein Min Oo (Make-up artist May Oo), U Nyi Nyi (Writer Tharawon-Pyae), Han Lin aka Phyo Han Kyaw, and actor “Daung”.
The statement said that those 17 people broke the existing law and left Myanmar illegally to other countries. According to the 1982 Myanmar citizenship law, Section 16, they are ceased to be Myanmar citizens.
On March, 2022, another 16 people were ceased from being Myanmar citizenship and so altogether 33 people were terminated from being Myanmar citizens.
