Former Rakhine State Chief Minister Nyi Pu and former State Ministers Aung Kyaw Zan, Kyaw Aye Thein, Min Aung and Kyaw Lwin have been charged under the Anti-Corruption Law, according to a statement issued by the Tatmadaw True News Information Team on the evening of August 12.

According to the statement, the commission has set up an investigation team against Nyi Pu, the former Chief Minister of Rakhine State, and other officials in accordance with the Anti-Corruption Law. The statement added that the state’s fund and property were lost and damaged.

In addition, the former State Chief Minister, former Minister for Finance, Tax, Planning and Economy Kyaw Aye Thein and Former Minister for Electricity, Industry and Road Transport Aung Kyaw Zan allowed a related company to operate three state-owned buildings in the Rakhine state government without having to scrutinize the company's information. A total of over Ks55 million was provided by the State Construction Scrutiny Committee to fund the renovation of the building without any scrutiny. Although the company is not operating, the failure to return all three buildings to the Rakhine State government so far is a matter of state finances, which caused the state funds and property were lost and damaged, it said.
