Representatives elected in the 2020 general election stayed in Nay Pyi Taw Sipin guesthouse are going home starting from today morning as the authorities instructed them to go home within 24 hours, sources said.

The Tatmadaw blocked the entry and exit of the Nay Pyi Taw Sipin guesthouse on February 1 and the elected representatives decided they will leave the guesthouse on February 6 in line with the decision of Central Executive Committee members of the NLD party although the Tatmadaw notified them to leave on February 2.

“We have been told to go home within 24 hours and we don’t know the reason why exactly. So we have to go home as the authorities told us to leave,” said Thant Zin Tun, the elected representative.

At the present, the elected representatives living in No.2 Sipin guesthouse are seen packing their personal belongings and leaving on cars.

MPs from NLD party and ethnic parties are staying at Nay Pyi Taw Sipin guesthouse and only MPs from Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) are staying at a guesthouse in their party headquarters.
