Two people protested in front of the Union election Commission (UEC) office on November 11 after noon and were charged with peaceful assembly and peaceful procession law section-19 according to an official from the Phayarkone police station in Ottara Thiri Township.
“Two leaders who led the protest filed a lawsuit in the evening. They are Zaw Lin and Nyi Nyi aka Tun Myint Aung,” said a police official who doesn’t want to be identified.
Zaw Lin is from Dakhina Thiri Township charity group and Nyi Nyi aka Tun Myint Aung who complaint to file a lawsuit against State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi for visiting party members’ houses in Shwe Kyar Pin ward in which he stated She violated rules in COVID-19 pandemic.
In the section -19 of peaceful assembly and peaceful procession law, if anyone who doesn’t report or get approval from the authority must be given a 3 month sentence or Ks.30,000 fine or both.
