Three more COVID cases in Myeik, partial movement restrictions imposed

Three new COVID-19 patients were found in Myeik, bringing the total number of cases to five. As a result movement has been restricted on some streets.

     

After confirming on 14 Sept. that a couple returning from Yangon was found to have been infected with COVID-19 virus, it was announced on 16 Sept.that three more patients were affected with the virus.

     

Patients are from within the family; previously infected husband and wife, their daughter and their son-in-law. A responsible person from the Myeik District COVUD-19 Prevention and Treatment department said that the streets where these people are staying are temporarily restricted from movement.

     

Myittar street from Kanbaung ward and Manpyay street from Parami (2) ward have been temporarily restricted from movement, and the names of all those residing on those streets have been registered.

     

Dr Lamin Soe from the diagnosis department of Myeik General hospital said that previously there were two Positive cases; then three new cases were found, making five Positive cases. There are 15 Contact persons. Their swabs were sent for lab tests and three were found to be Positive, the rest are Negative.

     

So far there have been five family members who have been affected with COVID-19 virus in Myeik,

and the ward administrative body has made all those that have had contact with them to Stay at Home.
