Among the monks returned from India, two were tested positive. Case-235 showed negative twice and was discharged from the hospital on June 24. But case-236 showed positive fourth time and undergo medical treatment at the Sagaing Hospital.

Monks, nuns, and laymen that returned from India on May 28 stayed at facility quarantine at the Thitagu Wipathana Academy in Sagaing, and swab tests were taken. Of these returnees, two monks tested positive and they were transferred to Sagaing Hospital.

“Case 236 tested for the fourth time and tested positive all times. Testing for the fifth time will be on July 1,” said Sagaing Hospital superintendent Dr. Su Su Tun.
