Myanmar has seen 299 confirmed Covid-19 cases as five of 48 military personnel quarantined in the Yangon Region Command area after returning from a training course in India, and a civilian returning from Thailand have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 am on June 28 that two men returning from India and one man returning from Thailand tested positive for the virus. The ministry reported again at 8 pm that three more men returning from India were infected with the virus.
Tatmadaw (Military) True News Information Team also reported on the evening of June 28 that five servicemen in quarantine in the Yangon Region Command area after returning from India tested positive for Covid-19. Measures for contact tracing, movement restrictions and quarantine would continue and the infected people would be sent to Defence Services Liver Specialist Hospital (Mingaldon) in Yangon, the information team said.
Myanmar has so far seen 299 Covid-19 cases, six deaths and 218 recoveries.
