3 more returnees test positive for Covid-19, cases up to 296

Three persons—one returning from Thailand and two returning from India—have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases in Myanmar to 296, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported.

A total of 830 samples were tested in the second batch for June 27—563 by the National Health Laboratory (Yangon), 252 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mawlamyine) and 15 by Defence Services Hospital (1000-bed). Among them, three Covid-19 cases were confirmed.

In the first batch for June 27, 1,135 samples were tested, but no one tested positive. So, the total number of samples tested on June 27 was 1,965.

Myanmar has so far seen 296 Covid-19 cases, six deaths and 216 recoveries.
