Twenty three people returning from Thailand and Malaysia have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases to 286 in Myanmar, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 am on June 19.
The new cases were detected after 2,422 samples for June 18 were tested—1,327 by the National Health Laboratory (Yangon), 240 by the Department of Medical Research, 203 by No (1) Defence Services Hospital (1,000-bed), 370 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mandalay) and 282 by the Public Health Laboratory (Mawlamyine).
Plans are being made to give medical treatment to the 23 new patients at respective hospitals.
Myanmar has so far seen 286 Covid-19 cases, six deaths and 187 recoveries.
