Man returning from Bangladesh tests positive for Covid-19, cases up to 262

A man who has a travel history returning from Bangladesh has tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases to 262 in Myanmar, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported at 8 am on June 15.

In the second batch for June 14, 777 samples were tested—563 by the National Health Laboratory (Yangon) and 214 by No (1) Defence Services Hospital (1,000-bed). Among them, one confirmed case was reported.

The latest Covid-19-infected patient is a 63-year-old man from Buthidaung Township, Rakhine State, who has a travel history to Bangladesh.

In the first batch for June 14, 1,217 samples were tested, and no one tested positive. A total of 1,994 samples were tested for the whole day.

Myanmar has so far seen 262 Covid-19 cases, six deaths and 167 recoveries.
